My partner and I had properly bought camp items (tent) to first time experience a great get away, and the experience here was amazing; affordable to have a powered camp site, beautiful shops near by, healthy activities occurring at the beach near by (many locations to swim as there is sand and rock formation). Beautiful to drive further within Auckland from this location- you’d be impressed. HIGHLY recommend and it’s suitable for all campers.

Stayed here on our first night in New Zealand. The park was a short drive from the airport, long enough to get comfortable with the van, but not too far after a long-haul flight. The bath facilities are comfortable but a bit tired. The location can’t be beat. Overall, a fantastic experience.

Can have more stoves in the kitchen due to the huge number of people staying in the park. Some of the guests were struggling to find a range to cook. But overall good place and would recommend pre booking as during the peak season they tend to run out of space to accommodate. Cheers 🥂

I have used the Tent site, unpowered. There isn't much space available to park your car near the tent site. The shower area is accessed by a code you receive from Reception, and it is very close to the tent site. But the showers are old and feels dirty. It needs an upgrade here. The location is excellent, facing the Rangitoto and it has an awesome Sunrise for those who like to wake up early (like me). Lots of shops nearby. The Reception has absolutely no Sign or indication it is a reception. it is pretty much a small container placed in situ, but it has No sign at all. It has a bell you press to ring the staff, and someone would show up. You just need patience as the reception person is also doing duties around the campsite, so he is not always there. There is no gate or code to drive in or out.

The location is perfect. However, we were put on a site that was too small for our caravan, and they wouldn't shift us to a more appropriate sized site. Everything thing became a problem instead of sorting it out simply by letting us shift to a larger site. I pointed out that the site was too small as soon as we arrived. When I booked I told them the size of the caravan and ute to make sure there would be no issue, but this didn't happen.

Love Takapuna Holiday Park. We have stayed a few times in our Motorhome on the beach front sites. The views are beautiful. It's amazing it's in the middle of the city. Added bonus there is a very nice cafe right outside the park. Great showers and friendly staff too. Highly recommend 👌

Wow what a fantastic location. It will be even better once the rebuild is done. The camp is going to get a complete rebuild, it will be world class and l will be back. Ive motor homed Spain, France, Portugal and Italy in the Mediterranean. Takapuna Beach is prestige and location supersede anything in Europes Mediterranean. Staff were great and made me feel welcomed.
